County Planner Steve Josephson described five requests that Planning & Zoning and staff recommended for approval: SV0125 (vacation of 21 lots), FLM01‑1225 (future‑land‑use map category amendment from general industrial to industrial‑agricultural for the same parcels), RZ0725 and RRC0825 (rezonings from industrial to agricultural on specified lots) and an amendment to zoning ordinance section 3.11 to bring floodplain language into compliance with Century Code. Josephson noted the vacation did not involve roads and that the ordinance change clarified where county jurisdiction ends and city jurisdiction begins for floodplain management.
Commissioner White moved each item in turn; motions were seconded and each passed by voice vote. The county will notify the applicant, Jared Kessel (also spelled Kessel/Kessel in the planning record), of the board’s decisions and proceed with the ordinance update to reflect the NDCC language.
