Staff updated the commission on the compatible-use study funded with a $600,000 federal grant. A selection committee that included county and city planners, a chamber representative and a state senator interviewed four firms and recommended Matrix Design Group Inc. Staff requested authorization to enter negotiations with Matrix Design so a final contract could be brought to the commission following state-attorney approval.
Commissioner Rost and other members of the selection committee described the interviews as strong and recommended moving ahead with Matrix. The commission approved the recommendation unanimously and asked staff to finalize negotiations and return the agreement at a subsequent meeting for signature.
