Staff reported the county has sufficient cash carryover to pay the outstanding $623,530.48 now and avoid paying interest to the developer.
A motion was made to amend the budget: move $300,000 that was allocated in the 2026 budget into 2025 and pay the remaining balance from cash carryforward. Commissioners moved, seconded and unanimously approved the action.
County staff said they will present a final supplementary agreement memorializing the payment and terms at a subsequent meeting; the sheriff's office will then have authorization to request funds and issue the payment.
Next steps: staff will prepare the final supplementary agreement for board review and the county will complete the payment from cash carryover.
