The board approved a recommended semifinal payment of $155,126.81 to Edward H. (Schwartz) Construction for work on 20 Seventh after staff reported major operations were complete and a project walk-through identified only minor cleanup. Commissioners also approved payments to Bronco Brothers (pay estimates including $29,318.02 on 119th & 22nd and $450,460.96 for 100 5th Avenue), Bechtel Paving (98th & 4th, $44,995.21), Jensen Brothers (final pay estimate for 97th Avenue), Northern Improvement (Pinewood Meadows, $343,234.62) and Win Construction (AR Subdivision $999,503.44), each by roll-call vote.
At the bid opening for the 90 Ninth Avenue project staff read four bids. After tallying and a staff recommendation, commissioners moved to award the contract to Martin Construction for $768,348.50; the motion passed unanimously. County staff noted the project carries a December completion deadline and discussed options to expedite startup work if the contractor is ready.
County engineering and road staff gave multi-year schedules for several projects, reporting environmental and cultural surveys are still pending on several corridors and that staff continue to pursue required easements. Officials warned some projects are contingent on cultural-clearance timing and on easement acquisition.
The board instructed staff to tabulate bids, finalize contract documents and return signed agreements as appropriate. The meeting record shows roll-call votes for each pay estimate and the contract award; details of each pay estimate were included in staff recommendations to the commission.
