The Stark County Commission approved three planning and zoning items that the Planning and Zoning Commission had heard on Dec. 18.
Steve Josephson, Stark County planner, presented the items. The first, RZ 0925, was a request from George and Linda Sikora to rezone approximately 5.66 acres at an address listed in the packet as 3120 106th Avenue Southwest from agriculture to rural residential; staff and the planning commission recommended approval. Commissioner Franchuk moved to approve RZ 0925 and the commission voted aye.
The second item, MSP 0725, was a minor subdivision application for the same Sikora property. Josephson said planning and zoning recommended approval; Commissioner White moved to approve MSP 0725, Commissioner Claris seconded, and the motion carried.
The third item, VAR 0125, was a variance request from Michael and Alicia Pretzer to section 3.70.3 of the Star County zoning ordinance to reduce the required tree setback from 125 feet to 76 feet. Josephson said the recommendation in the packet reflected a letter from a nurse practitioner documenting allergy concerns and an email from the road superintendent indicating no objection; planning staff recommended approval. A motion to approve VAR 0125 passed on roll call.
Each item was approved following the planning commission’s recommendation; Josephson remained available to answer questions during the meeting.
