Union president raises allegations of overtime fraud in county maintenance department; requests private review

During the public-comment portion of the meeting, Brian Flanagan, president of Local 2493, told the Board of Trumbull County Commissioners he had obtained a public records request response from the Ohio auditor that he said related to allegations of overtime fraud and time theft in the county maintenance department.
Flanagan said he preferred to present his statement and documents in private to the commissioners and asked to schedule a meeting to provide the materials. "I do have a statement that I would like to make, but I would also like to make that in private to each and every one of you," he said, and offered to provide a copy of the auditor records.
Commissioners responded that they would take the information under advisement and suggested Flanagan coordinate timing with the clerk to schedule an individual meeting to review the materials. No formal investigation, finding or official action was recorded on the public record during this meeting.
