Summary
Seneca County's auditor's office received the Auditor of State award Dec. 9; the county auditor and her staff were recognized for meeting the office's benchmarks across more than 50 audited entities in the county.
Scott Sands, the Auditor of State's Northwest Ohio liaison, presented the Auditor of State award to Seneca County at the Board of Commissioners' meeting on Dec. 9, 2025.
The award recognizes municipal and county offices that meet a set of audit and compliance standards. "It's my pleasure to present, Julie and your team with the auditor of state award for Seneca County for this year," Sands said during the presentation, and commissioners offered their congratulations.
Julie, the county auditor, introduced the office's team by name, including Autumn Weidner, Robin Bolger, Chantelle Duskins and chief deputy Tasha Frankert, and credited departments across the county for helping meet the benchmarks. Commissioners accepted a photo opportunity and publicly thanked the auditor's staff for their work overseeing audits of roughly 50 local entities, including schools, townships and fire districts.
The meeting record shows the auditor's office will leave informational calendars and follow-up materials for commissioners and that staff will remain available for questions. The recognition comes as officials also discussed other county business including budget items and IT matters during the same session.
The board adjourned after completing the day's agenda; there was no formal vote tied to the award presentation beyond the recognition and remarks.
