MADISON COUNTY — Kristen Mallard, representing the Columbus Chamber, visited the Park District to introduce the chamber nd offer regional business services to Madison County.
Mallard said the chamber serves the 11-county Central Ohio region and emphasized outreach to rural counties. "A lot of people think we just serve Columbus and Franklin County, but we serve the Central Ohio region," she said, and added that the chamber—an help local businesses with permits, zoning and connections to elected officials.
Mallard offered to send follow-up materials and attachments describing chamber services and highlighted programming that could matter to local businesses, including CEO events, innovation and transformation series, and an extensive calendar of nearly 70 events per year. She said the chamber lso facilitates regional coalitions and can help rural counties access federal-level advocacy through organized "fly-ins" to Washington, D.C.
County officials said they appreciated the presentation; staff noted the county is hiring a new economic-development director who could connect with the chamber. Mallard said she would send digital materials and follow up after the meeting.
