Public Works staff provided a range of infrastructure and grant updates covering courthouse utilities, transit coordination, and several stalled or pending grant tracks.
Gary reported that the county has paid fees and put conduit in place to relocate an overhead power line that passes aerially through the courthouse site; he said the county expects the old line to be removed by month'end if schedules hold. "We have paid them the fee, and we hope by the end of this month, if not sooner, they'll have that old line down," Gary said.
On transit, staff reviewed a proposed Corvallis-area route adjustment to serve a Country Club/Highway 20 facility; coordination will be needed among Corvallis, CTS and Coloma and additional infrastructure (bus stops, crosswalks, lighting) may be required. Gary also summarized several grant tracks: an EPA grant for Alpine and LC (NEPA progressing), an Innovation Mobility grant that remains under agency review, DeFazio-supported EV charging funding with Federal/federal permitting steps outstanding, and a USDA-supported Monroe clinic architecture RFP in evaluation.
Staff emphasized federal and state processing delays on several grants, but said design and procurement steps are being advanced in parallel so projects can proceed if funding confirms. Commissioners asked about timelines and contingencies; staff said they will keep the Board informed as approvals and funding moves forward.
