Commission approves utility permits, bridge inspections and a holiday DUI grant

At its Nov. 17 meeting the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners approved multiple routine permits, a professional-services agreement for bridge inspections and authorized a grant application for holiday impaired-driving enforcement.
Jason Schultz described a Spectrum Charter service bore under North Cattail Road and reported the roads department had no objection and that payment was on file; the board authorized the chair to sign the right-of-way application (payment noted: $201.98). Schultz also described two underground crossings for Dawson Public Power District on the paved section of Brady Moore Field; the board authorized that right-of-way application after staff confirmed fees and receipt of $504.20.
On infrastructure the board approved an agreement with Oak Creek Engineering to perform fracture-critical bridge inspections in 2025, including the Birdwood Overpass and two other county fracture-critical bridges. Officials noted that the inspections require specialized qualifications.
Deputy Chris McCauley described the "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" grant, which would fund extra deputies between Dec. 12 and Jan. 1 for impaired-driving enforcement. The sheriff's office applied for $14,000 in grant funding; the board authorized the chair to sign the application.
All items were moved and approved by roll-call votes as recorded in the meeting minutes.
