Beaver County commissioners adopt proclamations, approve routine appointments and minutes

BEAVER COUNTY, Pa. — The Beaver County Board of Commissioners on Dec. 8 adopted a series of proclamations, authorized routine appointments and reappointments, and approved minutes and administrative reports during a regular meeting.

The board approved a proclamation recognizing the 250th anniversary of the United States Post Office in Beaver County and another honoring Commander Clyde Heiderschott for his service to the veteran community. Commissioners also declared Dec. 18, 2025, as Homeless Persons Memorial Day in Beaver County, noting local partners will hold a community memorial on that date.

"On the positive side, we did house 450 homeless households this year," said David, a member of the public who thanked the board for the proclamation and described an upcoming memorial at Uncommon Grounds.

The board also presented a proclamation honoring a corrections officer for his actions during a July 29, 2015 structural fire in Midland that saved three lives. The officer's surname appears inconsistently in the meeting record (spelled both "Harman" and "Harlan"); the record identifies the honoree as a correctional officer at the Beaver County Jail and a Midland volunteer firefighter.
