Under miscellaneous business, Speaker 1 invited representatives from children and youth outreach to describe recent community donation efforts.
Kelly and other partners told the board they helped about 78 families at Thanksgiving and are coordinating holiday toy drives and other supports. They credited churches (Saint Patrick's Church, First Presbyterian Church of Holly, Wilford United Methodist Church), businesses (Century 21, Donald Irish General, Family Dollar, Backroads Brewery), volunteers such as Jay Matega and an anonymous donor who provided multiple fully assembled gifts, and community organizations including Operation Got Your 6.
"We definitely were a little nervous this year with the budget... but of course, all of these community partners helped us again," one outreach representative said, recounting the number of families aided and thanking local donors.
The commissioners acknowledged the groups and said formal thank-yous would be sent and public recognition given at a future meeting. The meeting then moved to adjournment.
