Commission grants REWA permission to remove limited vegetation in Hollington conservation easement for sewer realignment

REWA attorney Luke Burke told the commission the requested area is about 64 square feet (roughly 0.02 acres) and is needed because erosion has threatened the existing line; REWA said the homeowners association has already granted the easement and that REWA will maintain the easement area and generally not plant trees with deep roots that could damage the line. Commissioners asked about the number and size of trees to be removed and whether replanting or other mitigation could be required; REWA said there were mostly small trees and that typical REWA easements are maintained as grassed strips.
Commissioners voted in favor of granting the written consent; staff will memorialize conditions and ensure the work is coordinated with any applicable conservation‑easement requirements.
