Birth Choice expands to on-site adoption services, opens new program Nov. 1

Birth Choice announced it is adding on-site adoption services and expanding its service area to cover roughly 34 counties in West and portions of Middle Tennessee, citing a lack of adoption-agency coverage between Memphis and Nashville.

Lisa Reasons, introduced on the program as the executive director of the new adoption services, said the expanded service will include an expectant‑mother advocate, adoption intake and support, and prospective adoptive‑parent services. "We gained our temporary license a few months ago," Reasons said, adding the agency is working to complete the home‑study process required to convert temporary licensure to permanent status.

The organization said the new adoption office is adjacent to its existing Birth Choice facility and will host a ribbon cutting/open house and proclamation event on Nov. 1 from 1–3 p.m. at 391 Wallace Road. Tickets or client information may be found through Birth Choice’s websites; Reasons cited birthchoiceadoption.com as the site for adoption inquiries and described separate donor and client portals.

Reasons said Birth Choice historically served eight counties and is expanding to 34 counties to fill a regional service gap. She described the expansion as inclusive of adoptive parents, adoptees, expectant mothers, birth mothers and foster families.

Hosts noted the service hopes to streamline home studies with added staff and systems to expedite placements and assistance for prospective adoptive parents. The open house will allow community members to tour both the original Birth Choice agency location and the new adoption office.
