Health services seeks two 2026 hires and plans Westside soft opening

Marybeth, speaking for Health Services, told the court the department will do a soft opening of its Westside health services next Wednesday and aims to eventually staff the West Chambers office five days a week. To expand services, she requested authorization to hire two budgeted 2026 positions — a nurse practitioner and a nurse — which are in the 2026 budget.
Marybeth said the department also plans to retrofit a room to serve as a patient room and to transition a part‑time wellness coordinator role to support an employee wellness program that will use a WebMD‑based platform in partnership with TAC. She noted electronic medical record integration had been a hurdle but staff are moving toward scheduling and seeing patients at the Westside office.
Commissioners asked procedural questions and the committee recommended moving ahead with funding and onboarding. The court voted to allow staff to proceed with hiring steps consistent with the 2026 budget and to continue implementation work for expanded Westside hours.
