Dylan, a county staff member, told the court the change “reflects what the current statute is” and stressed it “does not eliminate other options” for additional fines. Commissioners asked whether the proposal altered any numeric limits; staff replied it did not and that the concrete portion covered by the Cedar Point Navigation District agreement remains unchanged.
A commissioner noted having received calls about the agenda item; staff reiterated the update is primarily language modernization and not a substantive change to permitted weights. The court invited questions, received none that altered the recommendation, and the motion to adopt the updated language proceeded and carried.
The amendment is procedural: it updates citations and fine descriptions to match current law while maintaining the same weight restrictions on both the asphalt and concrete sections as previously agreed with Cedar Point Navigation District. The court did not vote to change numeric weight limits.
