Trinity County approves cleanup funding, sheriff donations, appraisal board votes and tax‑resale bids

At its Oct. 14 meeting, the Trinity County Commissioners Court approved several brief action items in a single round of votes.

Funding for Oct. 18 cleanup: Commissioners discussed the county's change in grant rules that now limit reimbursement to one event per year. After debating the number of dumpsters (estimated at seven) and the potential cost of a tire trailer (discussed in the transcript as roughly $2,500–$3,000), the court voted to fund dumpsters and the tire trailer from contingency funds and asked staff to obtain final quotes and revisit the budget as needed. A motion was recorded to use contingency funds for the cleanup and carried by voice vote.

Sheriff/TxDOT agreement and donations: The court reviewed a resolution between the Trinity County Sheriff and TxDOT on right‑of‑way use and safety equipment. The sheriff's department accepted two $500 donations from Skeggs Record Service and Williams Record Service to purchase tasers; commissioners approved acceptance of the donations and the agreement.

Tax resale bids: Commissioners considered bids for tax resale properties for the Trinity County Appraisal District and approved the recommended awards.
