The court adopted a proclamation recognizing October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month; Tracy Stout (S8) thanked the court for considering the proclamation and noted local programs such as Safe House that support survivors.
The court approved applications and continuations of several grants: the statewide automated victims notification service grant (2026), a SHSP national-priority-area grant to support border-response enforcement (no local match), a solid-waste cleanup grant (annual cleanup), and the Texas Veteran General Assistance Grant (continuation). The rental agreement with Moulton Machinery for an RM 702 Caterpillar used in Precinct 4 road work was approved by motion.
Treasurer (S9) also presented disaster-related invoices for Sept. 4–18 totaling $52,619 (road materials and fuel); she said the county is assembling the administrative documentation needed for FEMA reimbursement and expected closeout once time sheets and payroll records are supplied.
Several routine motions — approval of minutes, bonds, payroll reports and reports from departments — were approved by voice vote throughout the meeting.
