Chambers County commissioners on Oct. 28 approved a series of routine and consent items that included vegetation spraying, a right-of-way amendment for drainage work, security cameras for park facilities, and a small construction slab.
Staff asked the court to accept a $78,007.20 bid for fall-cycle roadside and hard-to-reach vegetation spraying, noting the work is funded from Precinct 4 drainage. Commissioners asked for a map of treated areas; staff said a map exists on paper and will provide one.
The court also approved an amendment to engage right-of-way services for the Kilgore East Channel drainage project (approximately $98,002.50) to add one parcel and begin appraisal/negotiation work; staff flagged a potential CEWA canal appraisal requirement and said they would confirm whether CEWA will require its own appraisal.
Other approved items included $12,008.68 for security cameras to extend the recreation-camera system to pickleball courts at Little Peters Park and a $21,002.51 contract to add a concrete slab at Pine Creek for turf equipment storage. The court recorded motions and affirmative votes on these items.
