Lincoln County staff report 418 items donated in October food drive

Ashley Anderson, an HR technician with Lincoln County, told the Board of Commissioners on Nov. 13 that the county's October food drive yielded 418 items donated to five local pantries and hygiene-product distributions.
Anderson said the donations went to Beresford Faith in Action, the Canton Lutheran Church pantry, the Harrisburg-area food pantry, the Exchange in Lennox and the Tea Area Cupboard. She said participation more than doubled compared with last year, noting box donations increased from four boxes to as many as 11–12 overflowing boxes this year.
Commissioners and county staff recognized the county culture committee and members of the sheriff's office for delivering donations. Speaker 6 thanked Ashley for organizing the drive and noted Sheriff Swenson lent deputies to assist with deliveries. Deputy Castro was acknowledged for completing field training and beginning solo shifts the following day.
The chair thanked everyone who participated, and commissioners encouraged county employees and their families who need food assistance to use local food pantries.
