Chambers County commissioners on Oct. 28 approved a guaranteed-maximum-price contract with GreenScape 6 to renovate the front nine at the Terrence County Golf Course, a project county staff described as a near-total rebuild of greens and drainage systems.
GreenScape representatives told the court crews would mobilize immediately and expect to complete major construction in June, followed by turf establishment and a public reopening by late summer. Planned work includes rebuilding greens to USGA standards, redoing tee boxes, adding bunkers, demucking ponds to increase irrigation water holding capacity, constructing a new pump station and installing a computerized irrigation system.
Commissioners thanked staff and the vendor for advancing the project; the court moved and seconded the contract award and recorded an affirmative vote. County staff said the upgrades aim to improve turf quality, reduce maintenance costs and support planned nearby residential development.
