Miss Hawthorne, who presented the canvass (reported first in the packet, SEG 034), said early voting produced 1,634 ballots, election day voting added 2,296 ballots, and the clerk’s office processed 16 mail ballots and eight provisional ballots that were not counted. The clerk summarized the total as 3,954 votes, roughly 10.3% of the county’s registered voters, and said the county is nearing 40,000 registered voters.
Commissioner Tice moved to accept the canvass; Commissioner Gore seconded the motion. With none opposed, the court adopted the canvass as presented.
The court’s action formalizes the county-level results and authorizes the clerks to share the certified counts with the city partners noted in the presentation.
