School board honors Larry Grove for more than a decade of service

The Rappahannock County School Board adopted a resolution on Dec. 20 honoring Larry Grove for nearly 13 years of service to the board. The chair read the resolution, which credited Grove with steady leadership as vice chair, representation at the Virginia School Boards Association, and regional leadership as chair of the Mountain Vista Governor’s School governing board.
Board members offered personal remarks and presented Grove with a carved wooden clock created by the high‑school makerspace; the plaque noted 12 years of service and thanked Grove for his ‘‘transformative leadership.’’ Several members praised Grove’s mentorship and community engagement and said he would be missed at the dais.
The resolution was adopted by motion and second, and the board took photos with the honoree. Public commenters during the meeting’s public‑comment period also thanked Grove for his service.
