Jason, the county's community development director, said staff collected about 161 survey responses and prepared municipal "snapshots" for 21 of 35 municipalities to identify local needs.
Jason said passive recreational uses and trails were top priorities identified through the outreach process and that the plan will be a necessary base for grant applications. Supervisor Connor moved adoption; the chair announced the motion passed unanimously.
The plan updates the county's long-term vision for parks and recreation and is intended to inform future capital planning and grant applications. The board did not specify funds in the meeting; staff and the community development department will use the plan to apply for relevant grants and implement projects consistent with municipal priorities.
