The board also approved ordinance 25‑08, amending Chapter 11 (Section 11.06) of the Door County Code to authorize the Highway Commissioner to sign contracts with municipalities for road maintenance and construction projects when authorized by law. Corporation Counsel said the change “cleans up” code language and clarifies the county’s authority to perform work for municipalities when permitted; the measure passed 18‑yes, 0‑no, 3‑absent on the voter board.
A broader update to Chapter 340–350 of the Door County Code, which began as a request to add authority for no‑parking zones on county highways, was presented as a comprehensive code update to modernize language and forfeiture amounts. That ordinance (25‑09) passed on the voter board (vote recorded as 18 yes with 3 abstentions reported).
Other routine land‑use resolutions, including acceptance of the Town of Union zoning ordinance and map amendments, were approved; the board approved minutes and several reports without substantial debate.
