Summary

Pat Wagner, identified in the meeting as an area extension director, joined the Marquette County Extension Education Committee by video to brief members on a restructuring at the University of Wisconsin–Madison Extension.
"The new model did come out yesterday," Wagner said, adding that "Area 14 will become Area 12." She emphasized that the change would not alter the counties assigned to local educators and said the university is implementing a 5% reduction across the division of extension.
Wagner told the committee she had submitted a January contract and a memorandum of understanding to Madison and expected the signed documents to be returned for local distribution. She asked committee staff to tell her where to upload materials so Ron and others could access them when returned.
Committee members asked for clarity on scheduling and agenda coordination under the transition. Members agreed to pilot a single combined agenda for February, with department heads coordinating the order of presenters and a single Webex link for remote access.
The discussion did not include detailed budget numbers tied to the 5% reduction beyond the general statement that the division is meeting a reduction target. Wagner and staff said they will circulate formal documents from Madison once those are returned.
