Board extends Hurricane Helene building-permit fee waiver to April 30, 2026

Unidentified Speaker 2 said the board had earlier extended the waiver to Nov. 1 and asked that it be extended again so those remaining projects could secure permits without paying the fee. A motion to extend the waiver was made, seconded, and approved by voice vote; the chair declared the motion carried.
Staff said the extension is intended to help get outstanding projects permitted and does not itself award construction funds; any grant-funded work will still require applicable environmental reviews and compliance with state and federal requirements.
