Committee approves EMS software, reentry MOU and several contract amendments

The Ulster County Legislature’s Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee on Dec. 3 approved several contract amendments and program agreements spanning probation reentry services, public defender technology, sheriff hiring supports, and EMS reporting.
Resolution 588 authorizes a memorandum of understanding among the county, the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, and Family of Woodstock Inc. to continue a DCJS reentry award managed by Family of Woodstock; Probation Director Valerie Naccarato said the award funds go to Family of Woodstock while probation serves as co‑chair of the reentry committee.
Resolution 590 approves a $27,444 amendment with PS Technologies Inc., d/b/a LegalServer, for the Public Defender’s case management software; the amendment is covered by grant funds and adds six months of administrative support for customization.
Resolution 593 approves a $14,300 contract amendment for public safety psychology services used in background screenings for sheriff’s hires.
Resolution 596 authorizes a contract not to exceed $98,102 with ESO Solutions Inc. to provide a five‑year repository for electronic patient care reporting; Emergency Management told the committee the repository is needed to collect patient care reports produced by multiple EMS vendors.
The committee also moved and approved a block of intermunicipal agreements (Resolutions 597–601) authorizing EMS services contracts with several local fire departments and rescue squads, and adopted those block resolutions by voice vote. Separately, sponsors withdrew Resolutions 245 (enhanced building security measures) and 595 (Saugerties Central School District school resource officer agreement) to allow further review and because of local district superintendent changes.
Each adopted measure passed by voice vote during the committee meeting.
