County Administration presented a status update on Dec. 4 about a countywide effort to standardize Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by integrating prior results‑based accountability (RBA) measures into the OpenGov KPI module.
Bridget (County Administration) said the county began migrating RBA data into OpenGov in 2024 and has trained departments on the new reporting workflow. "KPIs reflect the county's values of transparency and accountability," she said, describing guidance that KPIs be quantifiable, relevant, and tied to measurable progress toward departmental goals. She said departments selected one or two equity indicators and staff plan to compile those in public‑facing graphics.
Committee members asked how targets will be set and expressed concern that easily attainable targets could reduce the usefulness of the system. Bridget and others said the intention is to include a mix of attainable and stretch measures and to use KPI performance to inform budget and operational decisions rather than to punish departments for unmet goals.
The county plans to publish a public dashboard that links strategic‑plan priority indicators with department KPIs and to continue iterative improvements to make reported data useful for decision‑making.
Outcome: informational presentation; no formal vote. Staff will continue dashboard development and report back with the public dashboard link when available.
