Board approves donations, consent items, opioid plan and LATCF transfer; all motions pass unanimously
Summary

During its Dec. 9 meeting the Washoe County Board of Commissioners approved several motions by unanimous vote:
- A private donation of $1,000 to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office (donor: Linda Gross Close) was moved and approved during announcements.
- Multiple consent agenda items, including senior advisory board appointments, were approved en bloc after public comment and a clerk-initiated roll call procedure.
- The board approved the Washoe County Opioid Use Disorder Needs Assessment (2026–2029) and the Opioid Abatement and Recovery Fund Plan (2026–2027). Commissioners directed staff to announce a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) in 2026 and produce a one‑page summary for community partners.
- The board approved a transfer of LATCF (ARPA) funds to the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada to establish a Washoe Behavioral Health Endowment to underwrite operations and maintenance of the Washoe Behavioral Health Center; roughly $500,000 is designated for regional behavioral initiatives and contingent support to Renown Health for a crisis‑care center, subject to a written agreement and exhaustion of state funds.
Chair Hill called for votes on each motion; meeting minutes indicate all were approved unanimously.
