Crawford County staff presented a list of end‑of‑year transfers and additional appropriations and the council approved the transfers during the Dec. 9 meeting.

Staff read the transfers and additionals aloud. Notable items included a transfer to cover sheriff's department fuel, and two highway preservation allocations described in the meeting as: Crawford County Highway Road Preservation (MBH restricted road preservation) for $154,004 and Riverboat Road Preservation for $300,000. The clerk explained many transfers move money from department cash accounts into specific line items so bills arriving between now and Jan. 1 can be paid properly.

A motion to authorize the clerk to perform within‑fund transfers before Jan. 1 was approved. The council also voted to approve the listed transfers and additionals on the staff report; the motion passed by voice vote recorded in the meeting as 7–0.

Council discussion also covered EMS overtime and holiday pay accounting and how reimbursements and staffing levels affect end‑of‑year balances. Staff said some bills can be corrected by transfers and that additional appropriations that require advertising will be brought to the January meeting for ratification.
