"I'm Eric Lowry, and I'm here informally at this point to be prepared for a formal presentation," said Eric Lowry, an event organizer, who asked whether the commission would continue to support the event next year and said he planned to submit a formal application next month. He said prior festivals had drawn visitors from more than a dozen states and estimated, "we averaged about a 110 room nights for the weekend" and that each weekend previously had about "5,000 people."
Lowry said organizers would avoid scheduling conflicts with longstanding local events and aim for mid‑June dates. He asked staff to provide the current application form; Speaker 2 (a staff or meeting participant) offered to get the form to him.
Lowry described outreach to potential celebrity guests and said he had contacts affiliated with Andy Griffith who were interested in participating. He told the commission he would return next month with a formal application and asked for continued commission support.
