Commissioners voted on Dec. 30 to renew the psychiatric-services contract for the county jail with LightSpring Health System Services. County staff told the meeting there would be no increase in cost and the provider would remain the same.

An unidentified commissioner moved to continue the contract; another seconded and the board approved the motion unanimously. Commissioners present indicated the sheriff's department was satisfied with the provider and staff recommended continuation to maintain services without disruption.

Next steps: Staff will finalize contract paperwork and proceed under existing terms.
