Commissioners approve multiple supplemental appropriations, transfers and advertising requests

Ohio County commissioners moved through a series of supplemental and procedural budget items that will keep county operations funded while staff completes the full budget reconciliation.
Approved and discussed items included permission to advertise for purchases (diesel fuel and judge’s flooring), a $2,073.02 transfer from contractual services to diesel in the riverboat fund, an additional appropriation request of $12,000 for diesel for the year, and a $20,100 request to cover higher utility costs for the courthouse and other departments. Commissioners also approved the supplemental funds package that had been presented.
Several items were procedural permissions to advertise and will be finalized at the reconvened budget adoption meeting; the board recorded motions, seconds and aye votes on these items during the session. Staff said they will return with final documents and appropriation ordinances when the adoption is completed.
Next steps: staff will process the approved transfers and advertising notices, complete any additional appropriation paperwork and present final appropriation ordinances at the continued adoption meeting.
