Developers ask Gibson County to support extension for Francisco solar project

Representatives for the Francisco Solar Project addressed the commissioners to request support for continued negotiations and to seek extensions of the project's economic-development agreement and property-tax abatement.
"We've been working, as you know, over the last several months...the project has requested an extension of its economic development agreement as well as...its property tax abatement and economic development agreement payment structure," said Kyle Russetaros of Dentons, who identified himself as representing Elliot Solar LLC and RWE. He asked commissioners to voice support on the record as the project works with county staff and consultant Baker Tilly and noted the county council would hold a public hearing that afternoon.
Annika Senikin of Baker Tilly said she had worked on cost estimates with Matt Eckerley and offered to answer questions. Remote participants briefly experienced audio difficulties but were able to reconnect to the meeting. Commissioners did not take formal action on the request during this session; staff said the council would consider related actions at its public hearing later in the day.
