Commissioners table highway bid awards pending review

The highway department presented portions of its annual bids for supplies including fuel, crushed stone, drainage materials and culverts from multiple vendors. Vlad, speaking for the department, read sample prices such as gasoline and diesel and noted bids from Heritage Petroleum, Rogers Group and Wabash Valley Cooperative.
Vlad recommended staff review the full bid packages and return an award recommendation at the next commissioners meeting in two weeks. Speaker 1 moved to take that recommendation and table award decisions so staff could complete their review; Speaker 2 seconded and the motion carried by oral vote. Staff said hard copies of the bids were available to anyone who wanted to review them after the meeting.
No contract awards were made at this session; commissioners will consider award resolutions after staff completes its review.
