The Gibson County Council approved a series of budget transfers across multiple departments and accepted the Redevelopment Commission's 2026 spending plan for inclusion in the minutes.
Councilman McGraw (Unidentified Speaker 2) read dozens of line‑item transfers moving funds among sheriff, GIS, assessor, council, courthouse, superior court, probation, EMS, highway, recorder, statewide 911 and prosecutor accounts. The council moved to approve all transfers in a single motion; members voted in favor by voice vote.
Jim McDonald presented the Redevelopment Commission's 2026 spending plan for the record to satisfy requirements of the State Board of Accounts; no questions were raised. Patty Vanover of the Gibson County Chamber of Commerce announced local community events including a retirement recognition for Eric Heinrich, a Chamber New Year's Eve event and the Chamber Day at the State House on Jan. 26. Vanover directed residents to gogibson.org for registration and details.
Next steps: transfers will be recorded and processed by county accounting staff; the Redevelopment Commission plan will be retained in the minutes per state accounting requirements.
