Ballard said he had received approval from the commissioners to renew his contract to continue on the demolition project and that the contract includes a fee described at the meeting as $500 per month.
A motion to continue the contract was made by Unidentified Speaker 2, seconded by Unidentified Speaker 9, and carried by voice vote. Council members indicated the project should be completed during 2026, with continued coordination among the commissioners and project managers.
Ballard also reported progress replacing radio transmitters for emergency paging and 800‑band backup, with several units already replaced and the remaining units scheduled to be updated later in the year.
Next steps: staff said they will proceed to bid the demolition work and continue contract oversight into 2026.
