The Vermilion County Board approved a recommendation to appoint Ivy McFadden to the District 4 board seat and administered the oath of office during the meeting.
The motion to approve the recommendation was made by Mister Starr and seconded by Mister Dackett; Ivy McFadden repeated the oath and was sworn in to serve as county board member for District Number 4.
Chair also announced two resignations: County Clerk Kathy Jenkins submitted a resignation effective June 30 and William (Billy) Ryan submitted a resignation from his staff board position representing District 5. The chair said the administration will contact appropriate committees to fill the resulting vacancies.
A board member publicly thanked Kathy Jenkins for her years of service as county clerk and earlier service on the board.
The board instructed staff to process appointments through normal committee procedures and to publish upcoming vacancies to encourage broader citizen applications.
