Sheriff Art Boysener told commissioners the AXON contract for law‑enforcement equipment (body‑worn cameras and related services) is included in the approved budget and sought the board’s approval; commissioners approved the contract by voice vote.
Boysener also told the board the department plans to acquire in‑vehicle computers and docking stations as a budgeted multi‑year purchase; he is negotiating pricing to spread costs over a five‑year contract so equipment can be acquired sooner. He noted the jail project remains contingent on bonding and that bonding steps are in process.
County staff summarized the tentative timetable for bond adoption and sale: public notice of an additional appropriation meeting (09/26), county council adoption of a bond ordinance on 10/07, publication, and anticipated bond sale in late October or early November. Commissioners asked staff to forward the email timetable to the board for confirmation.
