Council members debated options including approving a partial amount (a suggested $20,000 starter), creating a dedicated City Hall renovation line within the opioid fund for clearer tracking, or tabling the full request until December 30 to allow commissioners to prepare a master plan and cost breakdown. After discussion, a motion to table the appropriation until the Dec. 30 meeting carried. No appropriation was made at the Dec. 9 meeting.
Council members also asked staff to seek a more detailed breakdown showing what work (for example, specific quotes or invoice line items) had already been completed and what remained to be contracted. The council said it would revisit the appropriation once that documentation was available.
