After review and discussion, the Noble County council voted to adopt the 2026 salary ordinance.
Speaker 8 (Shelley) said she had emailed members a copy of the ordinance and that staff were reviewing final numeric details. The council discussed that elected-official pay cannot change after Jan. 1 and that certain positions (for example, probation officers and some judicial staff) follow state guidelines.
Speaker 1 called for a motion to adopt the ordinance; Speaker 3 confirmed the motion was made by Brandon and seconded by Tom. The chair called for those in favor to say "aye," and the ordinance was adopted by voice vote. Speaker 8 noted that amendments to salary elements could be brought forward during the year and would come before the board because they have fiscal implications.
The council recorded no roll-call tally in the moment but announced the ordinance as approved for 2026; further amendments can be proposed and will return to the council for consideration.
