Fayette County approves $26,573.94 CSI contract for the recorder's office

The Fayette County commissioners approved the recorder's annual contract with CSI for $26,573.94, funded by fees generated by the recorder's office.
County Recorder Lisa Witt told the board the contract “funds itself through the recorder's office” by using records perpetuation and security ID protection funds and that the office is currently backlogged by 5,506 documents that need processing. Witt said the county pays the CSI vendor monthly and that the arrangement does not draw from the general fund.
Commissioner Tracy moved to approve the contract and Commissioner Dale seconded; the motion passed by voice vote recorded as three ayes.
The contract will allow the recorder's office to continue its imaging and records-security work aimed at reducing the backlog.
