At the Dec. 4 meeting the Board of County Commissioners heard several health and human‑services presentations outlining new clinics, mobile units and public‑health outreach.
Rural Nevada Counseling (RMC) described its work as a certified behavioral health community clinic offering crisis response, outpatient services and transitional living. Director Joshua Cabral said RMC operates mobile crisis response and is opening a new 11,000‑sq‑ft Silver Springs clinic with separate adult and youth spaces and a recreation area for teens.
Community Health Alliance CEO Alfred (presented as Alfred / Oscar Delgado in remarks) described FQHC services, a $8 million expansion under way in a nearby community, and a forthcoming mobile health unit planned for spring; he said the mobile unit will include both medical and dental capacity.
Lyon County Human Services Director Shayla Holmes presented results from the county’s SB118 marketing campaign, Live Better Lyon, which used social ads, billboards and audio to boost service awareness. Holmes reported notable click‑through rates on social ads and said the county saw an 11% increase in unduplicated individuals served (3,102) in fiscal year 2025. Holmes noted the program will receive recurring interlocal funding after the 2025 legislative session and that a portion will be devoted to ongoing marketing and shifting priorities as data indicate needs.
Commissioners praised the local health partners and discussed continuing partnerships to place mobile units where they can reach seniors, schoolchildren and underserved populations. Presenters said more granular operational details (exact clinic opening dates, mobile schedules, and staffing plans) will be shared as the projects move into implementation.
