Commissioners noted one route ran largely through Commissioner Lucas's district and that the alternate route would use more county right-of-way, including dirt roads.
Staff said they had not received new plans or the memorandum of understanding from the city and ESG; the city manager asked staff to put the item on the first October meeting and planned to bring city and ESG representatives to answer questions. Commissioners recalled a prior vote expressing support in principle and said further steps (a survey and intergovernmental agreement) were required before construction could begin.
A motion to reschedule and revisit the item with full stakeholder representation was agreed; commissioners did not authorize any physical work or funding at the Sept. 22 meeting.
