Pima County’s Board of Supervisors on Dec. 16 approved recommendations for the Short‑Term Crisis and Emergency Resources (STCER) grant program to distribute funds to community providers responding to immediate needs.
County staff said the program was created to respond to increased demand and that an outside agency committee used a points matrix designed to account for rural and urban disparities. The clerk read two corrections to the addendum totals into the record before the vote: a legal services subtotal corrected from $47,000 to $122,000, and a program categories total corrected to $2,197,191. The board adopted the corrected allocations.
Supervisors discussed a possible second round of funding in early 2026 and asked staff to consider technical assistance for organizations that applied but were not funded. Supervisor Cano urged that the county keep the board updated and suggested a February timeline for a follow‑up recommendation if funds remain available.
The approved allocations move nearly $1 million in resources toward food and emergency assistance programs, administration said, and staff will coordinate further opportunities and outreach to unfunded applicants.
