The Ways and Means Committee on Dec. 11 approved Resolution 5 56, a digital-asset management software contract, after adding an amendment to require a cancel-for-convenience clause. The amendment was proposed because Resolution 5 49 (2024) requires such a clause in county contracts; members voted to add the clause and then adopted the resolution as amended.
Committee members debated whether the county could perform the work in-house in future years but agreed the vendor platform will provide immediate safeguards and operational capabilities the county currently lacks. A vendor or platform representative described features including AI-assisted image categorization, watermarking and digital rights management, role-based access, vendor partitioning, and content-delivery capabilities that can manage images, video and other digital assets and be used across county networks.
Members agreed the platform could streamline tourism and vendor workflows that currently struggle with a growing library of photographs and videos. The motion to amend to add the cancel-for-convenience clause passed on voice vote, and the committee then moved to adopt the resolution as amended.
