Williams County commissioners on Dec. 2 approved the establishment of precincts and polling locations for the 2026 election cycle and added the Ernie French Center as a polling location for voters in parts of Legislative District 23.
The auditor (identified in the record as Beth) said staff searched for an additional polling location in Legislative District 23 and the Ernie French Center agreed to serve as a polling place. She explained which precincts will be assigned to that site and noted that voters could still use existing voting centers. The auditor cited North Dakota Century Code sections when describing the statutory requirement to establish precincts and polling locations before an election cycle.
A commissioner moved to approve the precincts and the new polling location and to authorize the chairman to sign the documentation; the motion was seconded and carried on a roll-call vote.
