Lancaster County commissioners approved routine claims and multiple consent-agenda contracts during their Dec. 23 meeting.
The Board moved and approved claims processed through Dec. 19, 2025. The Board separately approved a $10,148.11 claim to El Centro de las Americas; Commissioner Yoakam announced, "I'll abstain as I serve on their board," and the motion carried on roll call.
The Board also approved two claims for services submitted after the 90-day window noted in Nebraska Revised Statute 23-135: Benish & Company ($4,261) and Felsburg, Holt & Ullevig ($3,300). The clerk described these as necessary payments and the Board approved them following a roll-call vote.
Consent-agenda items approved by a single vote included multiple contract amendments (US Bank National Association for commercial card services; Jetson and Irrigation Inc. for irrigation maintenance; Graybar Electric for electrical and related services; Kidwell Inc. for CAT-6 cabling and digital camera upgrades), right-of-way agreements and change orders for the Square 1 Family Resource Center and a project extension to Jan. 31, 2026.
Why this matters: Regular claims and contract approvals maintain county operations and capital projects. The abstention on the El Centro claim was disclosed on the record to avoid conflicts of interest as required in county practice.
What happens next: Approved vendors and contractors may proceed under the terms of their agreements; staff will follow established contract and payment processes.
