Greenwood County Council considered and approved the final slate of volunteers for the Board of Assessment Appeals on Sept. 2. Staff noted that existing member Mr. Lugar agreed to continue serving and that volunteers reside in the referenced districts. One applicant, Mr. Lisonbee, was not included because he is unavailable before 5:30 p.m. and could not meet anticipated meeting times.
Council discussed district representation and the need to broaden outreach for future volunteer recruitment. Staff said software being implemented will help advertise openings. The council voted unanimously to approve the appointments.
Quotes: "This is the final slate," staff said. "We did ask Mr. Lugar, who is an existing member, to join the board, and he's here, and he's agreed to do that."
